Purina Renews Alliance with Red Cross in Pichincha to Support Canine Unit

Nestlé Purina Ecuador has strengthened its commitment to animal welfare and community support by renewing its alliance with the Ecuadorian Red Cross's Provincial Board of Pichincha. This renewed cooperation aims to bolster the vital work of the Red Cross's Canine Unit, which has already benefited over 500 people this year.

The Canine Unit, established in 2017, plays a crucial role in various community services. Its highly trained dogs, including specialists like Simba, Balto, and Kiara, participate in critical search and rescue operations, provide therapeutic support, and assist in emergency response efforts. Their effectiveness relies on rigorous training and excellent physical condition.

Recognizing the demanding nature of the dogs' work, Purina will provide specialized nutrition tailored to high-performance animals. This includes high-quality protein for muscle maintenance, adequate energy levels, immune-boosting vitamins and minerals, and joint-supporting nutrients. This specialized diet is essential for the dogs to maintain their peak physical and mental capabilities.
