Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey have issued a joint statement denouncing "ongoing Israeli violations in Gaza," asserting that Israel's military actions constitute a "flagrant violation of international law." The three mediating nations condemned the targeting of healthcare facilities and medical infrastructure, which they said resulted in civilian casualties, including women and children.

This warning comes in the wake of an agreement announced by US President Donald Trump on Friday, which he described as a "critical step towards Gaza finally being governed by a new Palestinian government." The agreement reportedly marks the first time Hamas and other Palestinian factions have agreed to the entire plan for Gaza.

The mediating countries highlighted that continued Israeli military action in Gaza "undermines efforts aimed at implementing its [the ceasefire agreement's] second phase." They called upon the international community to "assume its responsibilities and exert the necessary pressure on Israel to fulfill its obligations under international law and the ceasefire agreement."

Meanwhile, the Israeli military confirmed on Monday that it killed Mahmoud Fatair, a commander in Palestinian Islamic Jihad's Central Gaza Brigade, whom they identified as a terrorist who infiltrated Israel on October 7 and participated in holding a hostage. The IDF stated that Fatair was targeted in the Deir al-Balah area over the weekend. Recent IDF operations have focused on eliminating terrorists involved in the October 7 attacks.
