Rabat-Salé Airport's new air terminal construction complete

The new air terminal at Rabat-Salé Airport in Morocco has concluded its construction phase after a seven-year project. The expanded facility is now awaiting an official inauguration, poised to significantly enhance air transport capabilities in the region.

The project, officially launched on December 19, 2018, under the supervision of King Mohammed VI, involved the construction of a new terminal spanning approximately 71,000 square meters. This expansion is designed to boost the airport's annual passenger capacity from around 2 million to 5 million by 2040.

In addition to the new terminal building, the development includes a parking area for about 1,300 vehicles and an enlarged aircraft apron. Modern amenities such as jet bridges and advanced systems for baggage handling, security, and passenger services are also being integrated into the airport's infrastructure.

The completion of the Rabat-Salé Airport expansion is seen as a qualitative addition to Morocco's air transport sector, potentially preparing the country for major international events like the 2030 World Cup. The project underscores Morocco's commitment to modernizing its infrastructure and increasing its capacity to host international travelers.
