Rabiot Denounces 'Unacceptable Attitudes' Among French Teammates After World Cup Loss

Adrien Rabiot, a midfielder for the French national football team, has publicly denounced "unacceptable attitudes" displayed by some of his teammates during their recent World Cup match against England. France lost the third-place playoff 4-6 after trailing 0-4 at halftime.

Rabiot described the team's first-half performance as "quite shameful." He stated that he witnessed behaviors from certain players that he had never seen before, calling it "a bit disappointing" given it was the team's final opportunity to leave a positive impression in the competition. These comments were made to BeinSports following the match and widely circulated in France.

Reflecting on the team's semifinal loss to Spain (0-2), the 31-year-old Milan player acknowledged the significant disappointment but stressed the importance of finishing the tournament with pride. He noted that the second half against England showed clear improvement after the team discussed the need for "a bit of pride" at halftime, directly contrasting with the "inadmissible" behaviors observed earlier.

Rabiot also took the opportunity to express gratitude towards coach Didier Deschamps, who is departing after 14 years leading the French team. Rabiot stated that while the coach thanked the players for their efforts, the players themselves are indebted to Deschamps for the "magnificent years" and the "discipline" he instilled.
