He also highlighted the persistent efforts made by Galatasaray's management, including the club president, vice-president, and agent Gardi, who he said had been pushing for the transfer since June. "They worked hard to make this deal happen. I am excited to play matches," Leao added, indicating his eagerness to begin his tenure with the Turkish club.

Leao brings a decorated career to the table, having risen through Sporting Lisbon's academy before shining at Lille in France. His move to Milan saw him become a key attacking force, contributing significantly to their Serie A title win in the 2021-2022 season, where he was also named the league's MVP. He has also represented Portugal internationally, participating in the 2022 World Cup and scoring against Uzbekistan in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, and was part of the squad that won the 2024-25 Nations League.
