Rahul Gandhi Reveals His Favorite BJP Leader: 'Get Along With Him, He's Cool'

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi revealed his unexpected favorite politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during an Instagram 'Ask Me Anything' session. Gandhi named Captain Amarinder Singh, stating he "gets along well" with the former Punjab chief minister and finds him "cool." Gandhi elaborated that he particularly admires Singh for his deep knowledge of military history. The Congress MP shared this in a video posted by the official Congress X handle, addressing Singh as "Uncle Amarinder." Captain Amarinder Singh, a former soldier, royal, and military historian, joined the BJP in 2022 after leaving the Congress. He had previously expressed hurt over his removal as chief minister while with Congress. Singh has stated that he would not rejoin Congress but would assist Sonia Gandhi if asked, though not politically. During his Instagram session, Gandhi also addressed student protests across India, particularly those in Jharkhand. He described the protests as a reaction to a "collapsed" education system that is "unaffordable and oppressive." Gandhi urged both central and state governments to listen to students and implement changes. He also shared his amusement over videos of the Prime Minister's house at midnight during a protest, calling them "the best" and indicative of a "panicked Prime Minister."
