Rajindra Campbell claims shot put victory at LA Grand Prix

Olympic bronze medalist Rajindra Campbell secured a victory in the men's shot put at the USATF LA Grand Prix held at Allyson Felix Field in California. Campbell was the sole Jamaican competitor to claim a win on the second day of the event.

Campbell dominated the competition, leading from the first round with a throw of 21.67 meters. Although American Jordan Geist briefly took the lead with 21.76 meters in the third round, Campbell responded immediately with 21.81 meters and sealed his win with a final throw of 21.94 meters. Fellow American Joe Kovacs also achieved 21.76 meters, placing third.

In other track and field news, Jamaican hurdler Danielle Williams finished fifth in the women's 100m hurdles with a season's best of 12.59 seconds. Adelle Tracey placed seventh in the women's 1500m with a time of 4:07.69. Meanwhile, in Sweden, discus thrower Roje Stona won the men's discus at the Folksam GP Sollentuna with a throw of 67.79 meters.

Campbell responded on the next throw with 21.81m then celebrated his win by going even further in the final round with 21.94m.
