Range Rover GT Teased as Luxury SUV Coupe, Set for Year-End Debut

Range Rover is gearing up to introduce its fifth family member, the Range Rover GT, a luxury SUV coupe designed for grand touring. The brand has unveiled details of the vehicle's cabin and its commitment to electrification and performance.

The GT will be the first Range Rover to utilize the new EMA (Electrified Modular Architecture) platform, which is engineered for both electric and high-performance capabilities. Initially, it will be available as a pure electric vehicle (BEV), with hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) variants planned for later in its product cycle. Production will take place at the Halewood factory in the UK, alongside existing models.

Spy shots reveal a distinctive golden camouflage inspired by the contour lines around Gaydon, UK, symbolizing the spirit of long-distance travel and the brand's electric technology. The interior continues Range Rover's minimalist design philosophy, featuring a spacious feel with clean horizontal lines. It incorporates a new single central touchscreen and a driver information display, replacing traditional instrument panels. Air vents are integrated into a horizontal trim piece for a seamless look.

Premium materials, including woven textiles, are used throughout the cabin, with the dashboard featuring an integrated wrap-around design and cleverly hidden speakers. Range Rover aims to create a serene and intuitive driving environment by minimizing visual and acoustic distractions. Martin Limpert, Range Rover's Operations Director, stated that the GT will redefine the Grand Tourer by blending elegant styling and long-distance comfort with Range Rover's renowned all-terrain capability, targeting affluent buyers who seek both luxury and performance. The prototype is currently undergoing final road testing, with a launch anticipated before the end of the year.
