A rare 1994 television clip has offered fans an intimate glimpse into the home life of Croatian funk musician Dino Dvornik. Croatian Radiotelevision shared the footage on Instagram to mark the 18th anniversary of his death.

The excerpt from “Dobro jutro, Hrvatska” shows Dvornik in a relaxed family setting while his wife, Danijela, prepares breakfast. Asked about his morning routine, he jokes, “My morning starts at three in the afternoon.” The footage also shows the family eating together with their young daughter, Ella.

First I think about where I was last night, who I made arrangements with, and what agreements we made.

Dvornik talks about his modern, hurried life, while Danijela speaks warmly about his relationship with their daughter. He explains that after waking, he first thinks about where he was the previous night and what arrangements he made. If he realizes he made a mistake, he tells Danijela, who wakes earlier and takes the child to kindergarten. If an arrangement matters to him, he says, he gets out of bed and goes to the phone himself.

The warm, spontaneous segment presents the musician away from the stage as a devoted husband and father. Fans responded with emotional comments, including one who wrote, “Legend, you left too soon and we still miss you,” while another called him “the strongest” and “a legend.” Dvornik died on September 7, 2008, and remains remembered as a pioneer of funk in the region.
