The Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU) has honored the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr. Oluwatosin Ajayi, with the Golden Era Pillar of Critical and Strategic Intelligence for National Development Award. The award ceremony, part of RATTAWU's 50th-anniversary activities, took place at the DSS headquarters in Abuja.

Prince Emeka Kalu, the national president of RATTAWU, lauded President Bola Tinubu's appointment of Ajayi in 2024. Kalu described the appointment as placing a "round peg in a round hole," emphasizing the importance of assigning capable Nigerians with integrity and professional competence to strategic national responsibilities. He highlighted the critical role of the DSS in safeguarding national interests, gathering intelligence, and supporting national security, especially in the face of complex security and emerging technological challenges.
