Real Estate Desk approves 59 projects worth 43.3 billion pesos, with 8,518 homes planned

Mexico City's Real Estate Coordination Desk has approved the viability of 59 projects since it was created in 2025. Together, they represent 43.3 billion pesos in investment and the planned construction of 8,518 homes.

The figures appeared in Mayor Clara Brugada's second government report. The desk aims to reduce the time needed to process real estate projects, as well as the financial costs that can make housing more expensive.

According to the report, developers can maintain continuous contact with the agencies responsible for assessing projects and issuing the necessary permits and authorizations. The system also provides guidance for related procedures and applications.

The Secretariat of Planning, Territorial Organization and Metropolitan Coordination, known as Metrópolis, says the mechanism seeks to make the right to the city effective. It says the capital is developing public policy around habitability, sustainability and social inclusion, while promoting projects that comply with real estate regulations and serve the public interest without distinctions based on gender or social class.

Metrópolis says the approach can support a more balanced distribution of residents and economic activity, laying the groundwork for a city it describes as more resilient, efficient and capable of providing a better quality of life.
