Real Madrid Officially Presents José Mourinho in Closed-Door Ceremony

Real Madrid officially welcomed José Mourinho back to the club in an unusual closed-door ceremony at its headquarters, with president Florentino Pérez present. The club released images and videos of the presentation through its own media channels, as Mourinho conveyed a message of belonging to the fans.

"I'm one of you," Mourinho stated in a video message released by the club. "And not just today, but since I arrived in 2010 and after I left in 2013, always with you. ... To return to Real Madrid is to return home."

Mourinho has signed a three-season contract, extending until June 30, 2029. Following the signing, he received customary gifts, including a replica of the stadium, a watch, and a personalized jersey. This marks Mourinho's second tenure with the club, approximately 13 years after his initial departure.

The club is undergoing a revamp after two consecutive seasons without a major trophy. Alongside Mourinho, who replaces Álvaro Arbeloa, Real Madrid has also brought in new players such as Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konaté, Denzel Dumfries, Bernardo Silva, and Yan Diomande. The squad will again be led by established stars Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior, and Jude Bellingham as they aim to prevent Barcelona from securing a third consecutive La Liga title.

Mourinho initially managed Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013, during which he won a Spanish league title and a Copa del Rey. His first spell was also marked by a confrontational style that reportedly divided the squad and alienated much of the fanbase and local media.
