French coach Didier Deschamps excluded Camavinga from the World Cup squad due to sporting criteria, prioritizing players in better physical and footballing condition. Frequent injuries and a lack of consistent playtime at Real Madrid impacted his form leading up to the tournament. Players like Warren Zaïre-Emery and Manu Koné were chosen over him.
