Real Madrid takes Spanish league lead with 4-1 rout of Real Sociedad

Real Madrid seized the top spot in Spain's La Liga with a commanding 4-1 victory over Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabéu. Kylian Mbappé was the star of the match, netting a hat-trick to secure the win for Los Blancos.

The rescheduled match from the first round saw Real Madrid's key players shine. Mbappé opened the scoring in the 40th minute with a shot inside the box, assisted by Federico Valverde. However, Real Sociedad managed to equalize before halftime through Luka Sucic in the 44th minute.

The second half belonged to Real Madrid. Mbappé restored the lead in the 60th minute, assisted by Jude Bellingham, who also contributed significantly with two assists. Vinicius Junior extended the lead in the 68th minute with a goal and an assist, before Mbappé completed his hat-trick in the 80th minute, sealing the dominant performance.

With this win, Real Madrid climbs to the top of the league table with six points, ahead of Sevilla and Real Betis on goal difference. Real Sociedad, conversely, sits at the bottom with two losses. In the next fixtures, Real Sociedad will host Espanyol, while Real Madrid will play Málaga.
