Red Bull loan Roald Mitchell to Danish club

Red Bull New York have loaned Trinidad and Tobago forward Roald Mitchell to Danish Superliga club Viborg FF through June 30, 2027, giving the 23-year-old a new setting to continue his development.

“Roald has made significant strides in his development over the past year, and this move presents an excellent opportunity for him to continue that progress in a new environment,” said Head of Sport Julian De Guzman. “Competing in a highly competitive league will provide valuable experience and help further his growth as a striker.”

Mitchell has spent the last three seasons with Red Bull New York and has made six appearances for the first team. He made his MLS debut against Nashville SC on February 24, 2024. His larger impact came with Red Bull New York II, where he has played 39 matches, scoring 23 goals and supplying seven assists. His goal total ranks third in the team’s history.

The forward enjoyed a standout 2025 campaign. He scored nine goals in 15 MLS NEXT Pro appearances, including five during New York’s run to the MLS NEXT Pro Cup. That total set the record for most goals by a player in a single MLS NEXT Pro postseason. Mitchell also scored twice in a 2-1 victory over Philadelphia Union II in the Eastern Conference final on November 1, 2025.

Mitchell has made four appearances for Trinidad and Tobago. His most recent call-up included an international friendly against South Korea in Provo, Utah, while he made his senior debut in a 1-1 draw with Jamaica on November 14, 2025. He has also attended a Trinidad and Tobago Under-20 camp.
