Region's first fully AI-powered vehicle plant opens in Abu Dhabi

Rox has opened what it describes as the Middle East's first fully AI-powered vehicle manufacturing facility in Abu Dhabi. Its independent operating lines manufacture vehicles without human intervention.

The project follows a strategic agreement Rox announced with KEZAD Group, or Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi, during the Make it in the Emirates 2026 forum in May. The agreement covers the establishment of an AI-driven advanced manufacturing centre.

According to the scheduled plan, the centre is expected to start operations in the second half of 2026. It is targeting annual production of 300,000 vehicles by 2030 and could contribute up to 10% to the UAE's Operation Dhs300bn initiative.

Rox is developing the project to manufacture high-end smart vehicles in the Middle East. The company said it would draw on KEZAD Group's industrial infrastructure and multimodal logistics network. Once operational, the centre will support production and exports to Middle Eastern and global markets.

The facility adds to Rox's growing presence in the UAE. The company has already established its global headquarters in Abu Dhabi and a regional spare parts centre in Dubai. The project also supports the UAE's ambition to become a global hub for smart manufacturing and exports.
