Rejiche Beach Cleanup Campaign Targets Plastic Pollution

The municipality of Rejiche is set to host a beach cleanup and awareness campaign on August 13, 2026, under the slogan "Act to Fight Plastic Pollution." This initiative aims to maintain the cleanliness of the Rejiche beach and educate the public on the critical importance of environmental protection.

The campaign will commence at 6:30 AM near the "Maison des Felouques." A diverse group of civil society components and youth organizations from the region are expected to participate. These include the Rejiche Environmental and Development Association, the Parents' Association, the Local Council of Rejiche, the Tunisian Scouts (Rejiche section), the "Iqra" Quranic Association, and the Rejiche House of Youth.

Organizers intend for this effort to significantly reduce the various forms of pollution impacting the coastline, particularly plastic waste. They also aim to bolster environmental awareness among citizens, summer visitors, and all beach users. The municipality has urged all citizens, youth, visitors, and volunteers to join the campaign and gather at the starting point on time, highlighting that beach cleanliness and protection are a shared responsibility requiring the involvement of everyone.
