Reniec to Open Three Offices This August 6 Holiday for DNI Services

For citizens needing to process or collect their national identity documents (DNI), three offices of the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec) in Lima will be open on Thursday, August 6, a national holiday. This measure aims to provide in-person assistance during the non-working day and meet the rising demand observed after the Fiestas Patrias holidays.

The selected offices, located in Cercado de Lima (Avenida Nicolás de Piérola N.° 545), San Borja (Avenida San Luis N.° 1673), and Miraflores (Avenida Ernesto Diez Canseco N.° 230), will operate from 8:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. During these hours, individuals can complete various procedures or pick up their already issued DNIs. Reniec highlighted that a significant number of documents are awaiting collection, with thousands of DNIs pending in each of these three locations.

Beyond in-person services, Reniec continues to offer a range of online options. The virtual platform allows for DNI duplicate requests, renewals, and the procurement of certified copies of birth, marriage, and death certificates. However, due to the Banco de la Nación's closure on the holiday, payments for these services must be made through Yape or via credit/debit card on Reniec's website. The agency advises citizens to bring their payment receipt and verify their DNI's status online; a 100% completion status indicates readiness for collection.
