Rent subsidies for newlyweds and children increased in Miaoli County; prior application required

Taiwan's central government has enhanced its "30 billion yuan central expansion of rent subsidies" program, offering increased benefits for newlyweds and families with minor children. The苗栗 County government is reminding eligible residents that the system does not automatically adjust subsidy amounts based on changes in marital status or the arrival of new children.

Individuals who registered their marriage or welcomed a newborn on or after January 1 of this year and are already receiving rent subsidies must actively "renounce their original approved case" and then reapply with their updated status. This step is crucial to ensure they receive the more favorable subsidy amounts available under the new provisions.

Under the revised rules, newlyweds who registered their marriage from January 1 onwards are eligible for a 1.5 times subsidy increase. For newborns from the same date, subsidies increase based on the number of children: one child doubles the subsidy, two children increase it by 2.5 times, and three children by three times, with each additional child increasing the subsidy by 0.5 times.
