Report host Giulia Presutti steps down to help the program

Giulia Presutti is stepping down as co-host of Report, saying she hopes her decision will help the Rai program move beyond internal disputes.

The journalist announced the decision in an email to Paolo Corsini, Rai’s director of in-depth programming. She described it as a “step back” from her co-hosting role and said she was making it in the hope of helping the program that had shaped her career.

I hope to help in this way the program that shaped me and to which I had the honor of contributing.

Presutti wrote that she had the honor of contributing to a program “so loved” by its audience and one that had given much to both viewers and Rai. Report, she argued, “cannot get bogged down in such small discussions and exchanges,” and its future should not depend on individual names or personalities.
