Rescued dog Brunei, who carried six puppies, now seeks her own forever home

Brunei's story is one of resilience and hope, a testament to the power of animal rescue organizations. Found collapsed on the street from heatstroke, the abandoned dog revealed a hidden burden: six puppies developing inside her.

Patitas Al Rescate, a non-profit in Buenos Aires, took Brunei under its care. The organization recounted her arrival, noting her "enormous belly" and the puppies within. Despite experiencing abandonment, hunger, and mistreatment, Brunei protected her young until each could find a family.

Now that her six puppies have all been adopted, it's Brunei's turn to find a loving, permanent home. She is described as affectionate, constantly seeking contact and enjoying caresses. At 3 to 4 years old, she is medium-sized, spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Those who know her say she is curious and calm, enjoying walks, runs, and playtime. She thrives on companionship but can also be left alone for several hours. While she could adapt to an apartment with daily walks, a house with a garden would be ideal. She is house-trained and prefers to relieve herself outdoors.

Due to her past experiences, Brunei may show jealousy towards other dogs and prefers not to have them too close. Therefore, Patitas Al Rescate believes she would be best as the only pet in the household. However, she interacts well during walks and responds positively to boundaries. Notably, she rarely barks and has a fondness for bones and pig ears.
