Instead, they suggest that government assistance or affirmative action should be based purely on economic status, disability, orphan status, or being a child of a martyr, irrespective of caste or religion.

This development follows a digital campaign by the movement, which has amassed 5.6 million followers on Instagram. The protest's venue was shifted to Ramlila Maidan from Jantar Mantar on the day of the event, a move the organizers described on X as an attempt to limit their voice, despite having sought permission for Jantar Mantar a month prior.
