Restaurant kitchen fire injures worker in Wiesbaden

A fire in a restaurant kitchen in Wiesbaden injured one employee, who firefighters took to hospital.

An automatic fire alarm alerted emergency services late Monday afternoon. Crews quickly extinguished the visible flames, but the operation became more difficult as they discovered that areas beneath a suspended ceiling had also been affected.

Firefighters also detected smoke in the roof area and called additional personnel to the restaurant at Kochbrunnenplatz. Handling the deep fryer created a particular challenge because it was difficult to cool down.
