Ride-hailing platforms extend temporary fuel surcharge on rides until Sep 30

Ride-hailing platforms in Singapore are extending a temporary fuel surcharge until September 30, citing persistently high fuel prices. Grab, Gojek, ComfortDelGro's CDG Zig, and Tada will continue their driver fee and fuel support measures, according to the National Private Hire Vehicles Association.

The association stated that these measures were maintained following ongoing engagement with the operators. Fuel prices have remained elevated since late February, with 95-octane petrol prices significantly higher than before the conflict in the Middle East began.

Under the extension, Grab will continue a S$0.90 surcharge on most bookings. Gojek adjusted its temporary driver fee to 90 cents for all trip distances in April. ComfortDelGro applies a S$0.50 to S$0.80 fee depending on fare, while Tada charges 90 cents to S$1.20 based on trip cost.

The National Private Hire Vehicles Association emphasized that these fees are passed directly to drivers and do not incur platform commissions. The association regularly engages with platform operators to advocate for practical measures supporting drivers.
