Ridwan Kamil legally recognized as adoptive father of Arkana Aidan Misbach

A Bandung court has officially granted former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil's petition to legally recognize the adoption of his youngest son, Arkana Aidan Misbach. The court's decision, accessible through the PA Bandung case tracking system, legally confirms Ridwan Kamil's status as the adoptive father.

The legal move was prompted by the need to update Arkana's administrative records after Ridwan Kamil's divorce from his former wife, Atalia Praratya. Initially, Arkana's adoption paperwork listed both parents. However, following the divorce, Ridwan Kamil became Arkana's sole caregiver, necessitating a legal update to reflect his status as a single adoptive parent.

As we all know, after the divorce, Arkana was handed over by Mrs. Atalia to Mr. RK. So we had to start the process as a single parent, done by Mr. Ridwan Kamil himself.

Ridwan Kamil's legal counsel, Wenda Aluwi, explained that the court's ruling provides legal clarity for Arkana's administrative processes, now managed solely by Ridwan Kamil. "As we all know, after the divorce, Arkana was handed over by Mrs. Atalia to Mr. RK. So we had to start the process as a single parent, done by Mr. Ridwan Kamil himself," Wenda stated.

Earlier, Ridwan Kamil had attended the court hearing, expressing his hope for a smooth process. "Yes, my prayer has been answered, Arkana will officially be my son, God willing," he told reporters at the time. The court has also ordered that a copy of the decision be sent to the Bandung Civil Registry office to update Arkana's birth certificate and official records.
