Road Chaos: Kilometers-Long Queues on A3 After Accident, Traffic Halted Near Trogir

Monday morning commuters in Croatia faced considerable delays and congestion on multiple major roadways. The Croatian Auto Club (HAK) issued warnings about increased traffic density in urban areas, on bypasses, and near construction zones, urging drivers to be patient and cautious.

The most severe issues were reported on the Zagreb bypass. An accident on the A3 highway between the Buzin and Lučko junctions, heading towards Bregana, caused a traffic jam stretching approximately 10 kilometers. Traffic flow was significantly slowed. Additional congestion was observed on the A3 between the Zagreb East and Kosnica junctions (towards Bregana) and between Zagreb West and Lučko (towards Lipovac), with intermittent slowdowns and stops.

Further north, the A4 highway saw queues of about three kilometers between the Sesvete and Zagreb East junctions, heading towards Zagreb, with slow-moving traffic and occasional halts. On the A2, heavy vehicle inflow near the Zaprešić toll station in the direction of Zagreb created a kilometer-long queue due to ongoing roadworks.

In the Dalmatia region, traffic was completely halted on the Trogir bypass (DC8) between Trogir and the town of Plano due to a traffic accident. On the A7 near Rijeka, a broken-down truck between the Križišće junction and the Burlica tunnel (towards Rupa) reduced traffic to a single lane. HAK reiterated its appeal to drivers to adjust their speed according to road conditions and to stay informed about the traffic situation before embarking on their journeys.
