Road closures in Bucaramanga this Sunday for athletic race

Bucaramanga is preparing for significant traffic disruptions this Sunday, July 26, as the city hosts the "Corre Mi Tierra" half marathon for the first time. The event is anticipated to draw more than five thousand participants, requiring temporary closures on various city routes. The Directorate of Transit of Bucaramanga has announced that mobility restrictions will be in effect from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to ensure the safety of runners, organizers, and spectators.

Authorities are urging drivers to adjust their travel plans and utilize designated alternative routes. These include Carrera 27 (south-northbound between streets 56 and 33), Diagonal 15 (in sections), Calle 70 via the Old Road, Calle 67 towards Girón, and Calle 69 towards the highway, among other main thoroughfares. Traffic agents will be stationed at key points along the racecourse to guide motorists and manage traffic flow, facilitating passage through alternative streets during the sporting event.

The municipal administration has appealed to the public to cooperate with traffic officials, drive cautiously, and plan their journeys well in advance. This is to minimize the impact on the city's overall mobility while the marathon is underway. The "Corre Mi Tierra" event marks a significant athletic gathering for the capital of Santander.
