Roads on BP, Kantipath, Araniko and Mechi Highways affected by floods and landslides

Floods and landslides have caused significant disruptions to vehicle movement on various highways across Nepal, as reported on the morning of July 26. The country's transportation network is facing challenges due to the adverse weather conditions.

According to information released at 6:30 a.m., the Mechi Highway, a crucial link between Jhapa and Taplejung, is completely blocked. Similarly, the BP Highway faces obstructions between Khurkot and Nepalthok-Katunjebesi. The Kantilokpath, connecting Hetauda, Thingan, Bagmati, and Lalitpur, is also impassable due to the natural disasters.

The Araniko Highway, a vital route to Tatopani and Kodari, has also been affected, with movement severely restricted. These blockages are hindering the transport of goods and people, impacting daily life and commerce in the affected regions.

Furthermore, the Mid-Hill Highway, a significant north-south artery, has seen sections become one-way traffic only. Police reports indicate these one-way conditions in the Bokhim area of Bhojpur and the Sakha area of Khotang, further complicating travel.
