Rod Stewart Cancels Mexico Concerts After Cardiac Stent Procedure

Sir Rod Stewart has been forced to cancel his scheduled September concerts in Mexico following a recent cardiac procedure. The cancellation comes after the British singer successfully underwent a routine operation to have a coronary stent placed, as confirmed by event promoter OCESA.

The concerts affected include performances planned for Monterrey on September 9, Guadalajara on September 11, and Mexico City on September 13. OCESA stated that while doctors are satisfied with Stewart's recovery and he has resumed daily activities, a four-week recuperation period is medically advised before he can return to the stage.

Stewart expressed his disappointment over the cancellations, conveying his apologies to his fans. "I already feel better and I am recovering very well," he said in a statement. "I want to thank the doctors, nurses, and all the people who have taken extraordinary care of me. I am deeply disappointed to have to miss these shows and I am very sorry not to be able to be with my fans, but I hope to be back on stage very soon to have a good time with all of you again."

Fans who purchased tickets online will receive a full refund, including service charges, directly to the card used for the transaction. Those who bought tickets at box offices can request their refunds at the place of purchase in the coming days. OCESA wished Stewart a speedy recovery and thanked his fans for their understanding regarding the cancellations.
