Rolling Stones Drummer Charlie Watts' Former Mansion for Sale

A historic rural mansion once owned by the legendary Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts is now on the market for £2.75 million (approximately €3.1 million). The property, known as "Halsdon House," is located in the village of Dolton in Devon, southwest England.

Watts purchased the estate in 1983 and made it his family home, residing there for nearly 40 years until his passing in 2021 at the age of 80. The mansion spans over 800 square meters across three floors and boasts nine bedrooms. A notable feature is the library, which served as the location for Watts' participation in the band's virtual rendition of "You Can’t Always Get What You Want" during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

The estate also includes a one-bedroom annex with independent access, as well as stables, barns, and storage facilities suitable for equestrian and agricultural activities. The property is recognized as Grade II listed, acknowledging its historical and architectural significance, and retains traditional elements such as sash windows, high ceilings, decorative moldings, and original fireplaces.

Seraphina Watts, Charlie's daughter, described Halsdon House as a refuge for her family over the years. The sale offers prospective buyers the chance to acquire a property deeply connected to rock music history and the legacy of one of its most influential drummers.
