Romania downs drone for second day; NATO spy charges filed; Saudi Arabia strikes Houthis

For the second day in a row, Romania downed a drone that had violated its airspace, the Romanian Ministry of Defense reported. An F-16 fighter jet intercepted the drone over an uninhabited area near the Ukrainian border. The drone shot down the previous day was identified by Romanian prosecutors as Russian, marking the first time Romania had downed a drone after multiple airspace violations.

In a separate incident, a Canadian woman of Chinese descent was arrested and charged with espionage at a NATO headquarters in Belgium. The woman, an intern at SHAPE, NATO's military headquarters in Mons, is suspected of spying for a third country and being a member of a criminal organization, according to a statement from the prosecutor's office. The specific country for which she allegedly spied has not been disclosed.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia announced it had carried out retaliatory strikes against Houthi military targets. The Saudi statement described the action as a "proportionate military response" following "reckless and cowardly" attacks by the Houthis on civilian oil tankers. The Houthi attacks, which occurred early Wednesday, reportedly hit two tankers, causing many ships to alter course.
