Romania's Baccalaureate autumn session continues with profile-specific exams

The autumn session of the 2026 Baccalaureate exam is underway in Romania, with more than 33,000 candidates registered to take the written tests. This session offers students a chance to pass or improve their scores from previous attempts.

Wednesday's examination focuses on the "choice of profile and specialization" subject. Depending on their academic track, students can choose from a range of disciplines including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Geography, Logic, Psychology, Economics, Sociology, and Philosophy. Over 22,000 of the registered candidates are from the current graduating class.

Candidates are required to arrive between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM for entry into the examination rooms. They will be seated individually and instructed on the exam procedures between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM. The exam itself begins at 9:00 AM and lasts for three hours, calculated from the distribution of subjects. Additional time may be granted to candidates who have received prior approval.

The Ministry of Education has implemented strict regulations to ensure exam integrity. Candidates found with prohibited items such as mobile phones, study guides, or electronic devices will be directed to a storage area to deposit these items. Refusal to comply will result in disqualification from the exam. A dedicated hotline, 0800801100, is available for reporting any organizational or procedural issues during the exam days.

Results for this session are scheduled to be published on August 18th. Candidates have the option to review their papers after the initial results are posted. The Ministry noted that candidates can retake all subjects if it's their first attempt or if they failed previous exams, or selectively retake subjects to achieve a higher score, aiming for an overall average of at least 6.00 to pass.
