Romania's border on alert: new Russian attacks on Danube prompt RO-Alert in Tulcea county

Romania's northern Tulcea county was on alert Saturday morning after Russian drone attacks targeted Ukrainian infrastructure on the Danube River. The Romanian Ministry of National Defense reported that radar systems detected a group of aerial targets moving toward the Chilia port, near the Romanian border, around 9:05 AM. In response, the National Military Command Center alerted the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, which issued a RO-ALERT message to residents in northern Tulcea county at 9:28 AM. The air alert concluded at 9:53 AM. Romanian authorities confirmed that there were no unauthorized entries into Romania's airspace and no reported ground impacts from the drones. The ministry also stated that allied structures were kept informed in real-time and that communication with them was maintained throughout the incident.
