Romania's Second Baccalaureate Exam Session Begins Monday; Over 33,000 Candidates Registered

Romania's second Baccalaureate exam session of the year is set to begin on Monday, August 3, with over 33,000 candidates registered to take the tests. The Ministry of Education announced the figures, outlining a schedule that spans several weeks.

The initial phase involves competency assessments, including oral communication skills in Romanian and a foreign language, as well as digital skills. Over 5,500 candidates are registered for the Romanian oral exam, more than 200 for the mother tongue oral exam, over 5,800 for the international language oral exam, and over 5,500 for the digital skills test.

These competency tests are scheduled from August 3 to August 7. The written exams will follow, taking place between August 10 and August 13. The subjects for the written portion include Romanian Language and Literature, a mandatory profile-specific subject, an elective profile subject, and mother tongue literature.

Candidates can expect the initial results to be published by noon on August 18. Those wishing to appeal can submit their requests between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM on the same day. The appeals process, including work reviews, will continue on August 19 and 20, with the final results after all appeals are resolved to be announced on August 24.

In the first Baccalaureate session this year, nearly 131,000 candidates participated, and the final success rate, after appeals, stood at 76.9%.
