Romanian PM Replaces Danube Delta Governor Ahead of Ministry Report Release

In a significant administrative shake-up, Romanian Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan has acted decisively to change the leadership of the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve Administration. At the proposal of Environment Minister Diana Buzoianu, Bogdan-Ioachim Bulete has been removed from his post as governor. This move, effective immediately upon publication in the Official Gazette, sees Florin Stăneață, the executive director of APIA Tulcea, appointed as his successor.

Bulete's tenure was brief, having been appointed in November 2023. His replacement, Stăneață, brings his experience from the agricultural payments agency to lead this crucial environmental body. The timing of this change is particularly noteworthy, occurring just one day before the Ministry of Environment is set to publicly present a control body report detailing the administration's activities. Minister Buzoianu has indicated that this report will not only contain findings but also propose sanctions and necessary measures, suggesting that Bulete's dismissal may be linked to the report's conclusions.
