Romina Gaetani: From Grief Over Ernestina Pais's Death to Her New Role and Healing Process

Actress Romina Gaetani is returning to the stage in Agatha Christie's classic mystery 'The Mousetrap,' set to premiere on September 3rd at the Teatro Liceo. This comes shortly after the tragic death of her friend and colleague Ernestina Pais, with whom she was working on the play 'El divorcio del año.' The production of 'El divorcio del año' was halted after Pais's passing. Gaetani described the loss as a "shock" and expressed that she is still processing the grief. She also shared that she is actively pursuing a gender violence case against her former partner. Despite the personal challenges, Gaetani finds solace and joy in her work. She stated that while therapy might be considered healing, theater, for her, is pure happiness. The actress is working with a cast that includes Malena Solda, Betiana Blum, and Carlos Belloso, under the direction of Manuel González Gil. This role marks a return to the Teatro Liceo, where Gaetani made her debut nearly thirty years ago.
