Roof Collapse at Pakistani Tuition Center Kills 14 Children

A tragic collapse at a tuition center in Lahore, Pakistan, has resulted in the deaths of at least 14 children and injured nine others, including a teacher. The incident occurred Tuesday in the Kahna area when the roof of the second floor of the old building, which was reportedly unfinished, gave way.

The children who perished ranged in age from four to 12 years old. Rescue teams were actively searching the rubble for more potential victims, as fears remained that others might be trapped. The injured were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities have arrested the owner of the tuition center and another individual in connection with the collapse. Police investigations point to poor construction quality as the probable cause of the structural failure. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his condolences for the children's deaths and directed officials to ensure the injured receive all necessary medical care and a swift recovery.
