RTL apologizes for technical broadcast issues during Dinamo match

RTL Croatia has issued an apology to its viewers following significant technical problems during the live broadcast of the UEFA Champions League qualifier match between Dinamo Zagreb and Thun. The issues marred the second leg of the second qualifying round tie.

Towards the end of the first half, with the Swiss team Thun leading 2-0, viewers were left without a picture and graphics due to technical failures in the production process. Match commentator Filip Brkić also repeatedly apologized to the audience for the disruptions throughout the game.

"During the broadcast of the Dinamo-Thun match, technical problems occurred in the signal production that RTL Croatia receives from the production company. To avoid leaving viewers without the broadcast, a decision was made to continue under minimal technical conditions with one camera and no graphical elements. We thank you for your understanding," RTL announced in a statement.

Despite the broadcast issues, the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system reportedly remained operational during the match. The incident highlights rare technical challenges faced during live sports broadcasting.
