Rundek & Ekipa Announce Major Concert with New Single 'Rijeka'

Musician Darko Rundek and his band Ekipa are building anticipation for their significant concert at Zagreb's Šalata Stadium on July 11 with the release of their new single, "Rijeka." The song, inspired by the environmental activism of Rundek's wife, Sanda Hržić, and her efforts to protect the Vrelo Une river, explores the profound connection between rivers, the diversity of life, and individual human destinies.

Stihovi Darka Rundeka kroz motive vode - pritoka, slapova i mora, ušće su u prostor za razmišljanje o zajedništvu čovjeka i prirode, o sudbini koju svatko nosi kao svoju kap u velikom protoku života.

"Rijeka" was first performed during a concert titled "Uz rijeku za rijeke" (By the river for the rivers) in Belgrade, an event that drew approximately 5,000 people. This live performance, captured and released as the new single, imbues the song with a special energy. The track features guest guitarist Marko Marić and is accompanied by a video created by Roko Crnić in collaboration with Sanda Hržić. The lyrics, using water motifs like tributaries, waterfalls, and the sea, invite listeners to reflect on the interconnectedness of humanity and nature.

The upcoming Šalata concert is dedicated to the iconic Haustor album "Bolero." The performance will see Rundek and Ekipa joined on stage by original Haustor members Damir Prica (saxophone, piano) and Zoran Zajec (electric guitar), as well as legendary trumpeter Igor Pavlica. Pavlica is also a regular member of Ekipa, which includes Ana Kovačić, Silvio Bočić, Miro Manojlović, and Roko Crnić. The new single "Rijeka" serves as an introduction to this concert, which celebrates unity and the free flow of music and life.

Koncert na Šalati 11. srpnja posvećuju legendarnom albumu "Bolero" grupe Haustor. Uz Darka Rundeka na pozornicu će stati originalni članovi Haustora - Damir Prica - Capri (saksofon i klavir) te Zoran Zajec - Zexa (električna gitara) i legendarni trubač Igor Pavlica ko je ujedno i standardni član Ekipe u kojoj su i Ana Kovačić, Silvio Bočić, Miro Manojlović i Roko Crnić.

The live recording was made in Belgrade, with Daniel Biffel as the sound engineer, Rundek handling the mix, and Filip Motovunski mastering the track.
