Russia denies involvement in explosive drone found in Germany

The Russian embassy in Berlin has rejected any involvement in a drone incident near Leipzig/Halle airport, characterizing the event as a new wave of "anti-Russian hysteria" in Germany. The embassy expressed concern over the narrative surrounding the drone, which was found with explosives.

German authorities are actively investigating the drone's origin and how it entered the airport. The German state prosecutor indicated sufficient evidence suggests an attempt to create an explosion. Germany's interior minister, Alexander Dobrindt, described the incident as a "hybrid attack scenario."

Meanwhile, unnamed U.S. officials familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal that the drone "likely" belongs to the Russian government. The drone did not reach its intended target, reportedly falling to the ground after being kicked by a bus driver. German specialists subsequently disarmed the device.
