Russia reports three killed, 19 wounded in Ukrainian attacks on Belgorod region, including bus strike

Russia's Belgorod border region has reported three fatalities and 19 injuries following a series of Ukrainian drone attacks. Regional authorities stated that two individuals died in a drone strike in a town near the border, while a third person was killed in an attack outside the region's capital, also named Belgorod. The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the targeting of a bus in the town of Shebekino, close to the Ukrainian border, which resulted in the injuries. All but one of the injured have been hospitalized.

Maria Zakharova, a spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, characterized the latest attack as Ukraine's attempt to retaliate against civilians due to mounting battlefield losses. She asserted that Ukraine is deliberately targeting public transport to inflict harm on ordinary people. This incident follows previous accusations by Russian authorities against Ukraine for attacks on civilian infrastructure.

In a separate incident, Russian-installed authorities in occupied parts of eastern Ukraine's Donetsk region reported on Tuesday that five people were wounded in what they described as a Ukrainian drone attack on a bus. Russian authorities have also previously blamed Ukraine for a June attack on a bus carrying children from Belarus, which resulted in one woman's death and six children injured.

Ukraine's military has refuted these allegations, labeling them as false. The ongoing accusations and counter-accusations highlight the continued friction and information warfare between the two nations amidst the broader conflict.
