Russian missile attack kills three in Ukraine’s Kyiv

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that a Russian missile attack on Saturday killed at least three people and injured 15 in the Ukrainian capital. The strikes occurred early in the morning, triggering more than a dozen explosions across the city and trapping residents in damaged buildings in the Shevchenkivskyi and Solomyanskyi districts.

Among the injured were two boys, aged 13 and 17, who were hospitalized. One person remained in serious condition. Fires and damage were reported in several other districts, with burning warehouses and falling debris adding to the destruction. Emergency services were on the scene conducting rescue efforts.

This attack comes as Russia has intensified its strikes on Kyiv in recent months, exploiting Ukraine's limited air defense capabilities against ballistic missiles. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been actively pressing allies for increased support, including negotiating with the United States for a license to manufacture Patriot interceptor missiles.

Earlier this week, Ukraine experienced several deadly Russian air attacks, including a series on Thursday that killed eight people nationwide. Meanwhile, the U.S. President's stance on providing the Patriot missile technology to Ukraine has been cautious, with ongoing discussions but no definitive agreement yet.
