Russian tourist flow to Kyrgyzstan drops 2.2%

The number of Russian tourists visiting Kyrgyzstan has decreased by 2.2% in the first six months of 2026, according to tour operators. This dip follows a similar negative trend on the Kazakhstan route, which saw a 4.6% decline in tourist flow.

Despite this reduction, Russia continues to be a significant source of tourism for Kyrgyzstan, ranking within the top three countries. Uzbekistan has emerged as the leading country for visitors to Kyrgyzstan, with 6.5 million tourists last year, followed by Kazakhstan with approximately 3 million travelers.

Preliminary data for the first half of 2026 indicates that 1.55 million Uzbek citizens visited Kyrgyzstan for tourism. In a reciprocal trend, Russian citizens are among the top five visitors to Uzbekistan, with 710,824 people making the trip. However, citizens of Kyrgyzstan are the largest group visiting Uzbekistan, totaling nearly 2.2 million.
