Rwanda's Trade Minister Urges African Nations to Lower Air Travel Costs

Rwanda's Minister of Trade and Industry, Antoine Marie Kajangwe, has issued a strong call for African countries to reduce the financial burden on air travel. He specifically urged nations across the continent to lower taxes, fees, and levies imposed on flights.

Kajangwe articulated that the current high costs associated with air travel are a major impediment, significantly limiting the movement of people and goods within Africa. This restriction hinders not only tourism but also business and intra-continental trade.

The minister's appeal is rooted in the belief that making air travel more affordable and accessible will unlock greater potential for connectivity, economic growth, and development across the African continent.
