Sabotage suspected after power outage halts Miroslav Ilić concert in Croatia

A concert by popular Serbian singer Miroslav Ilić in Svibovec Podravski, Croatia, was abruptly halted Saturday night when a power outage plunged the venue into darkness. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m., approximately an hour into the performance, leaving attendees and organizers bewildered.

Police have confirmed that the power failure was caused by damage to equipment on a nearby utility pole. An unknown perpetrator reportedly tampered with a metal cabinet and grounded a live electrical line, causing the widespread outage in Svibovec Podravski and parts of the Vinica settlement. The extent of the material damage is still being assessed, and authorities are actively seeking the perpetrator.

While police are investigating the incident as a criminal act, many local residents suspect sabotage specifically targeting the concert. "They sabotaged the concert. Nothing else, that's what I heard. People are strange these days, everything is getting worse and worse," one resident told Net.hr, reflecting a common sentiment among those present.

Ilić's manager, Saša Mirković, stated that the singer and his team support the investigation and hope for a swift resolution. Krunoslav Lukačić, president of the local municipal council, condemned the act, emphasizing that it does not represent the community's inclusive spirit and calling for judicial action if intentional sabotage is proven. The concert was organized by the Municipality of Sračinec, to which Svibovec Podravski belongs.
