Sabrina Lyn advances to breaststroke final at Commonwealth Games

Jamaican swimmer Sabrina Lyn has made history by qualifying for the final of the women's 100m breaststroke at the Commonwealth Games. She secured her place by finishing fifth in the semi-finals with a time of 1:08.43 at the Tollcross swimming centre in Glasgow, Scotland.

This achievement marks a significant milestone, as Lyn becomes the first Jamaican swimmer to reach a final at the Commonwealth Games. Earlier in the day, she had placed fourth in her first-round race with a time of 1:09.11.

Lyn was also part of the Jamaican Mixed 4x100m relay team, which finished third in their first-round heat. She teamed up with Collin McKenzie, Kito Campbell, and Jessica Calderbank for the relay.

Looking ahead, Lyn and Calderbank are scheduled to compete in the first round of the Women's 100m butterfly on Saturday. Meanwhile, McKenzie and Campbell will participate in the men's 50m breaststroke event. Earlier, Jessica Calderbank and Campbell had qualified for semi-finals in their respective events but did not advance further.
