The Ministry of Construction has instructed the Road Administration to expedite the process of certifying and announcing compliance for child car seats. This directive aims to streamline the evaluation of conformity according to the new QCVN 123:2024/BGTVT standard. If testing facilities cannot meet the demand, the Ministry has authorized the Director of the Road Administration to temporarily designate testing organizations.

Previously, the Road Administration reported to the Ministry that the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety mandates the use of appropriate safety devices for children under 10 years old and under 1.35 meters tall in private cars, effective July 1. However, a significant hurdle remains the certification process, as no organization currently meets the requirements for evaluating conformity with the new standard.
