Salvini Slams 'Undocumented Tunisian Immigrant' Arrested for Journalist's Murder, Demands Deportation

Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini has voiced strong criticism following the swift apprehension of a suspect in the murder of journalist Luca Esposito in Eboli.

Salvini identified the arrested individual as an undocumented Tunisian immigrant. He immediately called for the suspect's deportation, stating, "Now let him go to prison in his country, not here at the expense of Italians." This sentiment underscores a hardline stance on immigration and public spending.

The arrest, which occurred in an abandoned farmhouse, was hailed by Salvini as a success for law enforcement. However, the incident has also reignited calls from his party, the Lega, for enhanced security measures.

"It is now urgent," Salvini wrote on social media platform X, "that, as the Lega has long proposed, thousands of soldiers be deployed to protect our cities. No decent person should be afraid to see men and women in uniform everywhere."
