Sambhal makes 130-km Kanwar route pothole-free for barefoot pilgrims

The Sambhal administration has undertaken significant measures to ensure the safety and convenience of pilgrims during the annual Kanwar Yatra. Over 130 kilometers of routes designated for barefoot pilgrims have been made completely pothole-free by the Public Works Department.

In addition to road repairs, authorities have implemented a comprehensive "zero-error" security plan. This includes deploying more than 2,000 police personnel, establishing five security zones, and utilizing an extensive surveillance network of 12,456 CCTV cameras linked to an Integrated Command and Control Centre. Nine special magistrates have been assigned to major routes, with additional magistrates and police support across all police station areas and major temples.

Electrical safety has also been a priority, with 1,775 electricity poles wrapped, 233 transformers barricaded, and loose overhead wires secured. Special medical teams and ambulance services are on standby, and divers are stationed at major Ganga ghats to ensure a smooth and incident-free pilgrimage.

For the convenience of Shiva devotees, 130.33 km of Kanwar routes have been made pothole-free and electrical infrastructure has been secured. Security is being maintained through 12,456 CCTV cameras, an Integrated Command and Control Centre and deployment of 2,017 police personnel across the district.
