Samsun police arrest 12 in major drug operation

Samsun, Turkey – A significant anti-narcotics operation in the Turkish province of Samsun has led to the arrest of twelve individuals suspected of involvement in drug trafficking and use. The operation, carried out by the Provincial Police Department's Anti-Narcotics Crimes Branch, focused on the İlkadım and Atakum districts.

During the coordinated raids, law enforcement officers apprehended twelve suspects. Searches conducted on the individuals, their vehicles, and their residences yielded a substantial haul of illicit substances and weapons. Seized items included 5,528 synthetic pills, 950.20 grams of synthetic drugs, three precision scales, an unlicensed handgun, an unlicensed pump-action shotgun, and seven shotgun shells.

The arrested individuals are currently undergoing processing at the police headquarters, where further investigations into their alleged criminal activities are underway. The operation underscores the ongoing efforts by Turkish authorities to combat the pervasive issue of drug trafficking within the country.
